Head of Iran's National Carpet Center, Moradsi said that the volume of exported carpets was 429 million dollars, adding, "The share of Iran's exports in the world market has decreased during the past two decades by 32 percent but the volume has increased after the formation of an expert group and basic changes in carpet's designs."

He said that Iranian carpet weavers weave 5 million square meters annually and export half of the volume to world markets.

2 million weavers work in this field. 120 carpet weaving companies from provinces of Khorasan, East and West Azarbaijan, Qom, Yazd and Kerman participated in the exhibition.

They presented their latest products including hand-woven carpets, rugs, silk carpets, etc in an area of 10,000 square meters.
